An age-old tradition that captivates the entire city and draws thousands of spectators. Gubbio is approximately one hour's drive from the campsite.

Festival del Medioevo 2026 – "Il Tempo di Francesco"

Complesso di San Francesco, Piazza 40 Martiri, Gubbio (PG)Festival del Medioevo

The twelfth edition of the Festival del Medioevo is dedicated to "Il Tempo di Francesco" — a journey to the early thirteenth century in honour of Francis of Assisi, eight hundred years after his death. Gubbio is a meaningful setting: it was here that the young Francis first donned the brown Franciscan habit in the winter of 1206. The five festival days are filled with exhibitions, markets, performances, historical re-enactments and educational activities, including a medieval book fair, calligraphy workshops and lectures on medieval life. Gubbio is approximately one hour's drive from the campsite and is itself one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Italy.
