About Us
Elwin, Yvette and four kids — from the Netherlands to Umbria
We are Elwin and Yvette, and in 2024 we packed up our life in the Netherlands and moved to the rolling hills of Umbria with our four children: Olivier, Pepijn, Fiene and Cato. We settled in Montecastelli, a tiny hamlet just outside Umbertide, where the pace of life is slow and the views never get old.
Moving to Italy wasn't an impulse. We were looking for a place where life feels real, where there's space to breathe and things to explore around every corner, where the seasons actually mean something, and where work and living are woven together rather than kept apart. We found all of that here.
Glamping Luna del Monte sits at the foot of Monte Santa Maria Tiberina, one of Italy's most beautiful medieval villages, and it captures exactly what we love about this region: wild nature, honest simplicity, and a particular kind of quiet that feels rare these days. Our hope is that when you leave, you carry a little bit of Umbria with you.
We also run Casa Montecastelli, two vacation apartments on our own property in Montecastelli, because apparently one beautiful place wasn't enough.
